Your Initial Enrollment Period begins three months before you turn 65 and lasts a total of seven months (three months before, your birth month, and three months after).

Original Medicare includes Part A (hospital coverage) and Part B (medical services), while Medicare Advantage (Part C) is a plan offered by private insurance companies that combines Parts A and B, and often includes prescription drug coverage (Part D) as well as additional benefits like dental and vision.
